No, not really. It's actually as straight forward as you can get, you just need to pick the equation that best suits your goals and START.
(Lean protein + starchy carb + fiber carb) at every meal + some good fat = LEAN
To increase the rate at which you achieve LEAN -
(Lean protein + starchy carb + fiber carb) at every meal + some good fat = LEAN - Junk Food
To increase muscularity with lean -
(Lean protein + starchy carb + fiber carb) at every meal + some good fat = LEAN + resistance training and cardio (-junk food)
Although I'm not saying it's simple to do, it is simple math. Eat as clean and balanced as you can, keep out as much junk food as possible, and hit the weights and cardio consistently and there's no way your body won't change. There are a thousand theories, "diets", "weight loss plans", gadgets, pills, powders and supplements that claim to be the "answer" but 99.9% of it is bull. They are simply money extraction ploys.
Keep you money. Put it towards quality food, quality trainer (if you can), quality gym or quality home equipment but don't fall for the wrong answers someone is trying to sell you. I just gave you the right answers for free.
